Quel Mariage! is the French expression for what blend! or what harmony! Apart from the literal meaning of ‘marriage’, the French use this expression for the harmonious combination of colors and flavors.

in the vineyard:

Two single vineyards near the village of Shishmanovo, South Sakar.

in the cellar:

Hand-picked grapes, hand-sorted, fermented entirely with natural yeasts.

This is a bold, iconoclastic wine in which a classic Bordeaux grape (Мerlot) is combined with a Rhone variety (Syrah). The two grapes have different terroir expression in the sunny South Sakar region, making for a great-tasting individual wine.

The Merlot has been fermented and kept in stainless steel; the Syrah has been aged for 23 months in three different barrels of Bulgarian, French and Hungarian oak. After bottling, the wine has been kept in a temperature-controlled cellar for 2 years to integrate the tannins perfectly.

In The Glass:

Waves of cassis, plum reduction and cherry preserves are delivered on a dense, powerful, and polished structure. The Syrah shines through with hints of violet, lilac and black chocolate. The rich mouthfeel of the wine is pleasantly latent, boosted by layer after layer of fruits and spices. Ready to be drunk now, yet the structure promises more in the long haul. A vibrant and delicious finish.

Recommended Cellaring:
